Heaters are used in Washing machines to generally increase the temperature of water that will be used for the washing purpose. However, some washing machines may also have an option to connect to hot water from the boiler if you prefer.A heating procedure for a washer/drier consists of heating the washing during the wash and/or rinse cycle by injecting hot air, steam or water produced by the drier heater.The element plays an important role in keeping your appliance running, as it ensures the water is hot during the wash (if the water is not heated the machine may wash continuously and not finish a cycle). If the element gains a fault or stops working completely, it will need to be replaced.
